More About Green Jobs
If you want to get in on the "green boom," it's time to check out the educational opportunities that exist to help retrain you for some green industries. Again, your local community college is a good place to start.
Just as an example, Iowa Lakes Community College campus in Estherville, Iowa, has an Associate in Applied Science Diploma program to prepare skilled technicians who can install, maintain, and service modern wind turbines. These types of programs are sure to be included at more and more community colleges in the future.
Where's a good place to find a green collar job? You may be surprised to find that your local or state government's a good place to looking. Many environmental-related jobs can be found within agriculture, public and environmental health, and transportation.
